LEADERSHIP, DEMOCRACY AND THE YOUTH

It is not my intention to make mockery of the concept of democracy today. All I want to do is to showcase some situations which stem from this most famous and powerful political ideology. I will then leave it to the reader to conclude whether the practice of democracy has been adhered to by those world leaders and thos...e youths that hold officers right from higher institution, bound initially by its theories but who at the height of their powers and that of the so called stakeholders seem to have given an otherwise respectable ideology a kick the ass in disrespect and disgust .just to have their way ,at all cost and by all means.
For my purpose here, the idea of democracy refers to any political system in which there is a level playing ground with no intimidation what so ever, no issue of some micro scopic few trying to dictate the tune happenings in our nation. A system where every body, is an active partaker in the system and can actually walk up to his/ her representatives to question without any fear of being nipped in the bud. The youth wing leadership across Nigeria has been that, that is not approachable due to the fact that some people, somewhere are the one dictating the tune of the administration and it is a general saying that he who plays the pipers dictate the tune, I must assert here that the way we have shown ourselves towards political ambition is uncalled for.
I am shocked at how some youth have abused their offices and tenure to make a mockery of the concept of democracy at all level. I find it unbelievable that those who are expected to sanitize the outside political system are the same set of people making the system unhygienic and polluted in terms of the achievement of the objectives of democracy which is the progressive protection and enlargement of the welfare of the larger society .what kinds of leaders are we breeding, when they cannot manage the little offices they found themselves. National association of Nigerian Students{NANS} and the ijaw youth movement an instance where the minority have its way and say as opposed to the spirit and principle of democracy where the majority have its way and say. It is difficult to know whether to laugh or cry at the happenings in the activities of the youth across board politically. But the bitter truth is that the entire Nigerian youth has been taken for a ride by some unpatriotic elements that are fortunate enough to find themselves at a high level at tender stage. The question is; who should get involved if not the generality of the average Nigerian youth.
Great Nigerian youth, we all hold in our hands the future of Nigeria as a united nation and for that to happen, our institution must be revived through our active participation and taken away from the hands of the desperate and bloody “ludicrous few”. There’s no time to effect the much awaited change, the time is now, blame nobody, do something and expect nothing.
